l am Jack and this is my sister, Jill. Both of us are from Sabah in Malaysia.

As all of you may know by now, on Christmas day, a bad storm named "Greg" blew down into our state and hit hard in many places like Keningau, which fortunately is quite far from our home in Sandakan. But unfortunately, this bad storm took away about 125 lives and some of our friends are desperately in need of shelter and food. Some have lost both parents or brothers and sisters. To help them please send old clothing, blankets, dry food, pre-love toys for the children, used text- books and any items that you feel may help. A few encouraging words may also help sometimes. We will translate them for you. Dated 29/12/96

Ask your parents to get further inquires from your local Red Cross or Red Crescent center, St John's Ambulance, the Scout movement. For the Malaysian Red Crescent Society (Keningau Branch) in Sabah, Malaysia, please mark items to the care of Henry Tsen. Most of the victims are being housed in temporary shelters such as the Keningau sports complex (Keningau), the Kampung Masjit community hall (keningau), Masjid Pekan (keningau) and the St Francis Xavier church (Limbawan) in Sabah, Malaysia.
